Summer is here, and that means it’s time to whip up some no-bake treats to keep the kitchen cool. I’ve been on a Rice Krispie squares kick lately, experimenting with different variations. One of my absolute favourites has to be these Reese’s Rice Krispie Squares. I’m a peanut butta lovaaa, so I will always look for ways to incorporate it into my snacks. And when I saw the Mini Reese Puffs cereal at the grocery store, it’s like it was just calling to me!

Ingredients
For this recipe, you only need a few simple ingredients. You’ll start with 1/4 cup of butter and 1/4 cup of peanut butter, which add richness and flavour. A package of whole marshmallows (about 250g) provides the gooey base, and an additional cup of mini marshmallows adds extra fluffiness. The crunch comes from a mix of 3 cups of mini Reese’s Puffs cereal and 3 cups of Rice Krispies cereal. Finally, 1 cup of mini Reese’s cups are folded in to deliver that perfect chocolate and peanut butter surprise in every bite.

Instructions
Making these Reese’s Rice Krispie Squares is a breeze. Start by melting the butter in a large pan over low heat. Once the butter is melted, stir in the peanut butter until it’s fully combined. Add the whole marshmallows to the pan and continue to stir until they melt completely. Be sure to keep the heat low to prevent burning. Once melted, remove the pan from the heat and stir in the mini marshmallows, followed by the cereals. Finally, gently fold in the mini Reese’s cups. Press the mixture into an 8×8 pan lined with parchment paper. Be careful not to press too hard, as this will make the squares too dense. Let them cool for about two hours before slicing and enjoying.

Tips and Common Mistakes to Avoid
Here are a few tips to ensure your Reese’s Rice Krispie Squares turn out perfectly:
- Keep the heat low when melting the marshmallows to prevent them from burning.
- Don’t press the mixture too firmly into the pan; a light touch will keep the squares nice and chewy.
- If you find the mixture too sticky to handle, lightly grease your hands or a spatula with butter.
Common mistakes include:
- Overheating the marshmallows, which can lead to a hard, unappetizing texture.
- Packing the mixture too tightly in the pan, resulting in dense, hard squares.

Storage Instructions
To keep your Reese’s Rice Krispie Squares fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. They will stay fresh for up to three days. If you want to enjoy them later, you can also freeze the squares. Wrap each square individually in plastic wrap and place them in a freezer-safe bag. They will keep in the freezer for up to a month. Just let them thaw at room temperature before serving.
