A Guide to the Canadian Tulip Festival in Ottawa

Ottawa’s Tulip Festival is one of my favourite times of the year. If you’re planning to check out the Canadian Tulip Festival, here’s everything you need to know (from someone who has been attending annually since she was just a teeny tiny tot!). These are just my top tips, but you can find more detailed information on the official website here: https://tulipfestival.ca/

📅 Dates

The festival typically runs in May, with peak bloom landing mid-month (depending on the weather each year).

2026 Dates: May 8-18th

Check bloom updates before you go, as timing can shift. The NCC has an awesome “tulip meter” on their website, which updates daily with the current bloom level! Check it out here: NCC Tulip Meter
