Can you believe it’s that time of year again?? Christmas is right around the corner, and you know what that means – it’s cookie season!!! I’m so excited to share my list of the best Christmas cookies you can bake for the holidays. I’ve included a mix of my own creations, and a few gems from other websites that have become favourites of mine. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a Christmas-cookies-only type of baker, these treats are sure to be a hit. Let’s dive right in! 🎄🍪

Chocolate Peppermint Thumbprint Cookies
This is a twist on a recipe I have made since I could stand, that just screams Christmas to me! They’re buttery and chocolate-y, with a refreshing kick of peppermint. But don’t worry – if you don’t like mint, there are some alternative options for ya too 🙂
Classic Sugar Cookies
This one’s going viral! Momma we made it!! I truly believe this is one of the BEST sugar cookie recipes out there. Soft and buttery and thick and chewy and all the best things.
Spiced Ginger Molasses Cookies
I’ve had people BEG me for these cookies. They are a winnnnerrrr baby! Such a Christmas classic. I would call them “cookies for adults” because they have a real spicy kick, which is kinda nice to contrast all the sweetness of the holiday season.
Christmas Chocolate Butter Cookie Gems
These little cuties are surprisingly simple to make, but produce such a polished look! Made with my fav choc butter cookie dough, each bite is super indulgent.
Chocolate Truffles
Pure decadence. As I’m typing this I’m realizing I did not make this yet this year, and I’m trying to figure out if I have time to squeeze a batch in. This photo is just making me droooool!
Red Velvet Cookie Sandwiches
This recipe from Preppy Kitchen has made it into my Christmas cookie boxes the last 2 years in a row. I love that it’s naturally festive with the red colour!

Brown Butter Choc Chunk Pistachio Cookies
I usually lean away from “plain” chocolate chip at Christmas, cause there are so many other holiday flavours to focus on! But adding the step of browning the butter brings a beautiful caramel flavour, and the added touch of pistachio makes these extra festive. They’re allowed!
Hazelnut Nanaimo Bars
I did not know Nanaimo bars were a classic Christmas treat?? When I made them last year I thought I was being edgy. But apparently they’re super popular nationwide around the holidays LOL so of course they get a spot on this list!
That’s all I have for now friends. Short and sweet, with only my absolute favourite recipes.
Happy baking, and happy holidays!!
